As of July 9, new sprayground hours at LV Park are as follows: 

• Monday - Tuesday 10-3 pm
• Wednesday 2-8 pm 
• Thursday Closed (But Hayes Park across from Science Focus School and Drew Park in South Arlington are open)
• Friday 2-8 PM 
• Saturday/Sunday 12-8 pm 

Reduced sprayground hours are the result of County budget cuts. The water bills are a small fraction of the exorbitant costs the water parks incur.  The maintenance costs and staff needs are actually far larger than water bills.  

In addition, the budgets for the new baskeball courts/tennis courts and pavillion roof are separate (operational budget vs. long-range parks & rec bond money), so we are not gaining new courts at the expense of sprayground hours, the way it may appear.

The revised hours reflect the County's analysis of peak use times, but they may revisit this based upon feedback and summer heatwave(s).  We will provide current hours on this website If you wish to provide feedback, you can call the County at 703-228-PLAY.
